Funny how the people we love most are the ones we most fear”, she spits at me.

Silence – I say, in the vain hope that she will be silent.

Inside the blurred water, I feel your movement. A cat passing its claws through the thin fabric that was the walls of its prison.

Stop it, you fool,” she echoes, “You know I’m leaving”.

You will not – I repeat again to the predator chained.

If you don’t let me, you will never know the difference between her and me and it will consume you”.

Silence – I say, in the vain hope that she will be silent.

The snake eats its own tail”.
